VE Day 75th Anniversary
Friday 8th May is VE Day. To remember, give thanks, and celebrate the return of peace to Europe, the Scout Association have designed a fun badge and put together some activities to help you remember the occasion and the role that Scouts played. As we celebrate this end of the war anniversary you can also view galleries from the Scout Association heritage website on how Scouts contributed to the war.
If you are taking part in activities let the rest of he group know via the group Facebook Group and we can look at ordering some badge for members who have taken part in the celebrations.
Wait, what’s VE Day?
VE Day marks the day towards the end of the second world war when fighting against Nazi Germany came to an end in Europe – 8 May 1945. The Prime Minister at the time, Winston Churchill, declared a national holiday that led to a day of partying and celebrating.
